KRU The Nightlife App - Connecting My Crew With Your Crew

Every Friday at 5:01 pm, if I am not otherwise engaged, you will find my ass on a bar stool at what I believe to be one of the finest (read: cheapest) drinking establishments in Seattle.  By 5:02 pm, I've got my $3.50 vodka soda in my hand and a steaming hot pretzel with cheese on the way.  This weekly routine is affectionately called "On Call Friday" and basically consists of an open invitation to ridiculously cheap happy hour booze and bites at McCoy's Firehouse Bar in Seattle.  The group of attendees changes every week.  There's one armed Steve, who is neither one armed nor named Steve.  There's Honeydew, Lover Boy and Pretty Eyes.  There's Joe from Bensonhurst and the occasional lightening fast appearance by Edi.  Of course, there's me and a whole slew of other folk rotating through.  But if the stars align, and the drinks are flowing, you'll find all of us in one big lively crew.

KRU The App

KRU is an app that connects my crew with your crew.  The short explanation? It's basically Tinder for groups.  The long explanation?  It's a Seattle based nightlife app that matches your group with other groups who are going out in the same area at the same time.  You can then group chat with your matches, see where things go and possibly even meet up for what will surely be more drunken shenanigans.  

Crew Capers

The best possible way I can describe the activities of my On Call Friday Crew is with one word:

Caper, [key-per], noun (1) a playful leap or skip (2) a harebrained escape (3) a frivolous, carefree episode or activity

Previous capers have included busting into a private karaoke/illegal pai gow gambling den, being mesmerized by lovely gyrating ladies at a local chaps bar, and interpretive dance while listening to dueling pianos.  If I happened to find another crew that also enjoyed such drunken capers, it would be crew match made in heaven.
